Upload the picture you were sent
A profile photo, a screenshot, or a crop of one face. You choose the face when the image has several.
- Creator, model, and ordinary photos are all valid uploads
- A screenshot is enough
- The file is not stored
A stolen photo search looks for the face in a picture you upload across publicly indexed images. The same face on another page, including a creator portfolio or an ordinary social account, is a reason to slow down. It is not, by itself, proof of a crime, and it is not permission to harass the person in the picture.
Loading the search form…
The search can only find a picture that is already public. A photo that lives only in a private chat, a camera roll, or a locked account will not appear.

A paid search returns public pages where a similar face appears, when those pages have been indexed.
Read the name and the other photos on the source page. If the picture was stolen, that person is often not the sender.
Fake profiles often use a picture that already belongs to someone else: a creator, a public social account, a model portfolio, or a stranger’s post. A match shows you that page when it is public. You then see whether the name and the story match the person messaging you.
You can upload a clear portrait of yourself to see which public pages show a similar face. That can help you find an impersonation page that is already public. It will not find a copy that was never indexed. Save the source links if you need to report a page to the site that hosts it.
CatfishSpotter does not decide that a photo was stolen, who copied it, or why. Two people can look alike. The same person can post the same picture themselves. The source page is the evidence you read.
A stolen profile photo is often cropped or screenshotted, so the file no longer matches the original. The face can still match.

| The identical picture on another site | Can return that page | Can return that page |

| Who copied it, and why | Not decided | Not decided |
| Your own public impersonation pages | Public pages only | Public copies of that file |
| A generated face with no history | Often no page to find. Use the AI check | Also nothing to find |
It can show other public pages where a similar face appears. Whether it was stolen is something you judge from those pages and the conversation. The search does not make that call.
If that public page is indexed, it can come back as a source. Compare the name and the other photos with the profile that sent you the picture.
Yes. Upload a clear portrait. You will only see public indexed pages, and only if a similar face is on them.
