Will the person know I searched?+
CatfishSpotter does not contact the person in a photo. Opening a source page follows that website's own privacy practices.
Can a match tell me if someone is a catfish?+
No single image match can establish that. Look at the context, dates, source pages, and what the person has told you. Similar-looking people and reused photos can produce misleading results.
Do I need an account or a subscription?+
No. Credit packs are one-time purchases with guest checkout — one credit covers one search, nothing renews, and your code arrives by email. Codes are valid for 30 days.
What happens to my photos?+
We keep no copy of your photo. The report is stored only in this browser — you can delete reports at any time from Search history.
Can I reverse image search a Tinder, Hinge, or Bumble photo?+
Yes, if you upload a picture you have the right to use. A catfish reverse image search compares that face with publicly indexed images. It does not log into the dating app or open a private account.
Does no match mean the profile is real?+
No. A new photo, a private account, or an AI-generated face can return nothing. No match is not proof the person is genuine, and a match is not proof they are a scammer.
Is the AI image check the same as the face search?+
No. The AI image check is free and only scores whether the picture looks generated. The reverse face search is separate: one credit returns the source pages where a similar face appears.
