Make sense of similarity scores, source links, and the context in between.
Similarity is not certainty
A similarity score describes how closely images resemble each other according to a search system. It is not the probability that two photos show the same person, and it does not establish someone's intentions.
Go back to the source
Look at the original page when available. Check the date, caption, surrounding text, and whether the page could be a repost. A photo can appear under different names for many reasons.

No matches does not mean verified
Search providers do not cover every page on the internet. Private profiles, recent uploads, image quality, and incomplete indexing can all affect results.
Use more than one clue
Compare what you find with the conversation and information the person has chosen to share. Avoid publishing accusations or personal details based on an image result.
